For more than 25 years Clive Derbyshire has held key leadership positions within the motor and service industry. He has established, acquired and developed a succession of market leading Sales and Service franchises, with annual sales of $40m plus.

Clive’s career within the Service Industry developed under the Wrightcars franchise. Rising quickly through the ranks he took on the responsibility of Chief Executive Officer at Wrightcars Toyota in Taupo, and because of his proven turn around skills was transferred to Napier and subsequently to Wrightcars Pakuranga. Within the six years that Clive spent running this new dealership in Highland Park he won Toyota’s first Gold Award for Outstanding Achievement within all areas of dealership operations and built the Toyota Brand from No.6 to No.1 in sales in this territory.

In 1990, seeing the opportunity for personal and business growth Clive initiated the management buy-out of what was to become DERBYSHIRE TOYOTA in Otahuhu. As Managing Director Clive continued to achieve Toyota Dealers highest Gold and Platinum Awards, maintained high yield to shareholders and consolidated brand leadership within the regional market. In a concurrent business venture Clive invested into Auckland’s four branches of AA Auto Service Centres. Taking on a second Managing Directorship Clive again turned a loss situation into an outstanding performance, consolidating a valuable business operation with further development potential.

Bringing his specialist knowledge into the dedicated professional team at LINK, Clive offers additional expertise and experience to a number of key business sectors. Through his hands-on management and leadership experience Clive has developed high ethical values and practices that reflect both his own and the wider organisation’s professionalism.

Clive is married with two adult children and is a past President and current member of the Howick Rotary Club and recently awarded a “Paul Harris Fellowship” Award for his Service to the Community and Rotary. He is an avid sports fan, keen golfer and is a current member of Whitford Park and Formosa Golf Club and a previous Board member.

From the invaluable experience gained over the past 25 years, Clive has developed an in-depth understanding of business at all levels and can competently value almost any business realistically relative to current market circumstances.
