For more than 25 years Ross McLauchlan has been involved in the tourism, hospitality and travel industries. He holds a Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management and has served on a number of industry related boards, including the New Zealand Convention Association. He is an Advisory Board Member of the Unitec School of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, Finance, Law, Accounting.

Wide ranging experience in diverse facets of the tourism and hospitality industry has equipped Ross to assist you in marketing your tourism related business. His career began as a cadet with New Zealand Tourist Department, gaining six valuable years of exposure to all facets of the broader Tourism industry. He then joined Oberoi International Hotel Group in Adelaide as Sales Manager and for five years worked in Melbourne and Sydney for both Oberoi and latterly with Hyatt International as the Australian based Sales Manager for Hyatt Hotels New Zealand. His international experience was extended during four years as Director of Sales & Marketing at the Hyatt Regency Auckland and then by making a radical move to Belgrade in the former Yugoslavia as Director of Sales & Marketing at Hyatt Regency Belgrade. Civil war broke out within weeks of his arriving (1991) and the hotel’s largest customer rapidly became the United Nations Peace Keeping Force. After 18 months, and with the war far from ending, he returned to NZ.

Since that time he has continued to develop marketing expertise and industry knowledge that will help bring the best results for you. He appreciates the issues of communication and sensitivity surrounding the sale of your business and Ross reflects the high ethical and professional standards of our organisation.

His roles as General Manager Sales & Marketing for CDL Hospitality Management (operators of the Millennium, Copthorne and Quality brands) and NZ Regional Manager Sales & Marketing for Accor, the world’s largest hotel and tourism company and operators of the Novotel, Mercure and Ibis brands in this country, have given him a breadth of understanding that serves well during the sales process.

Further expertise came as CEO of Eflights, a retail and online travel agency chain, a sector of the industry that has experienced incredible change with the advent of a largely commission environment and huge developments in free distribution.
